It's that time of year again, the smell of dirt and grass and the sound of the crack of the bat.
It's time for the MLB season, time for Rockies Baseball.

The Starting Lineup for opening day has been revealed by Manager Walt Weiss:

1. CF, Charlie Blackmon
2. RF, Carlos Gonzalez
3. 1B, Justin Morneau
4. SS, Troy Tulowitzki
5. 3B, Nolan Arenado
6. LF, Corey Dickerson
7. C, Nick Hundley
8. 2B, D.J. LeMahieu
9. Pitcher

Season Predictions (Team Leaders):
W: Jordan Lyles
S: LaTroy Hawkins
AVG.: Charlie Blackmon
HR: Corey Dickerson
RBI: Nolan Arenado
Fielding %: Troy Tulowitzki
H: Nolan Arenado
SB: Charlie Blackmon
ERA: Jorge De La Rosa (Starters)
Rafael Betancourt (Relievers)

Rockies Season Prediction:

82-80
This team has way to much offense to not be trouble against other squads, the Pitching is again the concern as it always has been. If Jorge De La Rosa can stay healthy, if Jordan Lyles can continue to improve, and newcomer Kyle Kendrick can each win 12+ games this year, this team will be competitive.

Playoffs?:

Not Likely

This team still has gaps in it, and the bullpen is mediocre at best. I think this team runs into problems with the bullpen and starters in the dog days of June and July. I see this team being a Seller, not a buyer at the deadline so a Playoff push is not likely for 2015.

Division?:

4th

I can see this team staying ahead of the Diamond-Backs but they still won't have the winning percentage to move ahead of Defending Champions, The San Fransisco Giants, The San Diego Padres, or the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Most Likely to be moved:

Justin Morneau

Coming off a great comeback season in which he won the NL batting title, Morneau is commodity at first base and the Rockies may look to move him early in exchange for bullpen help or more young arms to put through the minors.

Breakout season?:
Corey Dickerson broke out last season with numbers that make us believe there are more in store for him. But, Nolan Arenado last season started to show signs of star potential and we finally believe he might be ready to surpass Tulowitzki as Colorado's greatest offensive threat. I see an All-Star Season in store for Arenado.

Newcomer of the year?:
Kyle Kendrick without a doubt, this man has quietly been one of the most consistent arms in Philadelphia for many seasons. I can see him clearing 13 wins this season with a fairly respectable above 3.00 Era.

Bullpen Arm to watch:

Brooks Brown, this guy had an excellent spring. He looks very comfortable coming into late game situations, he has a great fastball-curveball combo that could make him one of the best pitchers out of the Rockies pen (which isn't saying much) but if success is to be had, he'll have it.

Encouraging sign:
Jorge De La Rosa worked out today just two days before the season opener on the Road at Miller Park in Milwaukee. You can catch his work out recording here:

Stay tuned, Opening Day is around the Corner.
